The Pont-Aven was officially named in Roscoff on the 26th April. She was christened by Alex Gournevec's wife at the culmination of the three hour naming ceremony which saw the ships Captain, Joseph Hardouin, a priest, and Brittany Ferries managers take their role along with a Breton choir. At 1250 the champagne bottle smashed onto the hull officially naming the vessel.

The festivities are over and now the Pont-Aven has now settled into her regular sailing schedule between Plymouth, Roscoff, Santander and Ireland already proving extremely popular. Bookings out of Plymouth have increased by 30% as eager passengers savour the prospect of a cruise to the continent.

Pont-Aven will sail from Plymouth throughout the year to both Santander and Roscoff before setting sail for Portsmouth in January where she will operate alongside the Val de Loire to St Malo until March when she will resume sailings to Santander from Plymouth.
