Following her call into Roscoff on the 1st March the Pont-Aven then sailed to Brest where the final preparations will be made including crew training, safety exercises etc. She will depart on the morning of the 16th bound for Roscoff prior to sailing to Plymouth.

The Brittany Ferries press office have come up with the following fun facts about the Pont-Aven:

Holding 650 cars, if they were all Mercedes-Benz its contents would be worth £29.6 million, excluding number plates!

There are 650 cabins, with 2012 beds. If you knotted all the sheets together you could climb down a 1,200 storey building!

In the 18 hours it takes to get to Santander there would just be enough time to soft boil 360 eggs after each other!

The Pont-Aven cost over £100 million to build - enough to send over 357,142,857 Christmas cards!

During the summer she will undertake 70 round crossings, 70,000 miles - the equivalent of 5,000 circuits of the London Circle line!

Her service speed of 27kts is equivalent to 30mph - or the top speed of a grizzly bear or a very freighted rabbit!
